Backyard Brains' OpenLab Series 4/4: When Your Results Find Their Voice – Present Your Discovery

How do you present your scientific discovery in the best possible way?

Welcome to the grand finale of the Backyard Brains’ OpenLab series (November 24 & 27, December 1 & 4, 2025). Designed to guide you through the entire research process, this final workshop brings you to its centerpiece: the public presentation of your work.

About This Workshop

About the Instructor

The workshop is led by Aleksa Vasić, M.Sc. in Biology. As a passionate science communicator, Aleksa blends biology, neuroscience, and technology to make modern scientific discoveries accessible to everyone. Through hands-on demonstrations, he reveals how the electrical signals that control our bodies can be observed, measured, and interpreted using simple tools.

How Do You Present Your Scientific Work?

In science, getting results is only half the journey, knowing how to present them is just as important.
In this concluding workshop, you will complete your scientific poster, step onto the “scientific stage,” present your analyses, discuss your findings, and bring your story of the electrical body full circle.

Learning Science Through Practice

We’ll focus on how to communicate scientific ideas clearly, effectively, and convincingly.
You will finalize your posters (title, results, and discussion) and then present your research to fellow participants. Together, we will walk through the entire arc, from the spark of curiosity to the final conclusion, strengthening your ability to defend your findings with confidence and solid reasoning.

Why Join?

This workshop blends neuroscience, biology, and engineering in an accessible, engaging, and interactive format. You will gain valuable experience in public speaking and have the opportunity to showcase a successfully completed scientific project you can be proud of!
